Directed by Noam Murro, this new chapter of the epic blockbuster “300” is centered on the waters than the vast battle grounds. Again based on the graphic novel by Frank Miller, ‘Rise of an Empire’ is not really a sequel but depicts a battle between the Greeks and the Persians, with Greek general Themistokles (played by Sullivan Stapleton) against the huge Persian forces, being led by Xerxes. The most exciting part was to see Artemisia (portrayed by Eva Green) as the ferocious commander of the Persian naval army. ‘Rise of an empire’ is showcased with dramatic and larger-than-life skies, and dark-blue shades of spurting sea. The visuals were reminiscent of the novel, but in all, this one doesn’t seem to be an interesting story-teller.
